About

Jamie Randene is an Asian-American photographer and bookmaker who obtained her BFA in photography from Parsons School of Design. Her work has been shown in Florence and New York City, where she currently resides. Throughout Randene’s work, she has focused on creating implied narratives allowing the viewer to come to their own conclusions about what they’ve seen, therefore challenging one’s perception of reality.

Randene’s new series, Beating a Dead Horse, similarly gives agency to the viewer’s implicit bias through an abstract lens. This time she questions the way we see and our need for meaning.
